J. Mark Craun is a shareholder of the Firm and a member of the
Firm’s Litigation Section. Mr. Craun’s practice areas include: Civil
Litigation, Medical Malpractice Defense, Products Liability Defense,
Insurance and Commercial Litigation.
Mr. Craun has been a trial lawyer for more than 22 years, focusing on
civil litigation. His practice has involved the defense of
insurance-related tort, healthcare, product liability and commercial.
Mr. Craun and the lawyers working under his supervision have defended
hundreds of cases brought against insureds, insurance companies,
individuals and businesses, including personal, property, professional
and commercial lines. The exposure of these clients and their insurers
in those cases has ranged from several thousand dollars to several
million dollars. Mr. Craun has tried numerous jury trials in State and
Federal Court, and has defended clients involved in Multi-District
Litigation in Federal Court. Mr. Craun and the lawyers he supervises
have also defended numerous cases involving high exposure product
liability claims (medical devices and pharmaceutical drugs), as well as
general commercial litigation.
Mr. Craun received his B.B.A. in Business from Baylor University in
Waco, Texas in 1979. He received his M.B.A. in 1980 from Baylor
University. He received his J.D. in 1983 from the Baylor University
School of Law. Mr. Craun has been admitted to practice in the State of
Texas since 1983. He is also admitted to practice before the United
States District Court for the Western District of Texas.
Mr. Craun is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and is a member of the
State Bar of Texas. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the
San Antonio Bar Association and the Texas Association of Defense
Counsel.
